Autant d'amoureux que d'étoiles

"Autant d'amoureux que d'étoiles" (English translation: "As Many Lovers As Stars") was the French entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1984, performed in French by Annick Thoumazeau.
The song was performed third on the night (following Luxembourg's Sophie Carle with "100% d'amour" and preceding Spain's Bravo with "Lady, Lady"). At the close of voting, it had received 61 points, placing 8th in a field of 19.
The song is a dramatic ballad, with Thoumazeau promising her unending devotion to her lover and remarking that they are not the only lovers in the world - there in fact being ''"as many lovers as stars in the sky"''.
It was succeeded as French representative at the 1985 Contest by Roger Bens with "Femme dans ses rêves aussi".
